Warrens Drug has served the community since 1933, the pharmacy started in the 1920’s as Pickard’s Drug and Seed, and was bought by Virgil Warren in 1933. In 1938 Calvin Oakley began working at Warrens Drug, and then twenty years later there was a new pharmacist by the name of Doug Isaac, however Calvin was still a pharmacist working at Warren’s. In 1960 Warrens had its first move, this move puts Warrens Drug on Clay and Fourth. The next large event that impacts Warrens is that Calvin retires in 1983. So from there Doug Isaac and Ken Capes were the sole operators of Warren’s Drug. In 1999 Doug Isaac retires and Ken Capes owns and operates Warren’s Drug by himself until his death in 2004. Mrs. Capes owns Warrens drug with the Pharmacist Wheeler Carver as the operator until 2005 when Stephen Joyce the current owner along with David Smith the owner of Medicap Pharmacy in Burlington buy the store together and then they move the store to First Street where the space has been double. They have also added a compound lab, a drive thru window and a couple new faces. Warren’s has been in the community for almost 75 years. It is a wonderful place to work there is always room to move up in the company and there is always someone there to give you a hug if ever needed. Warrens Drug is a pharmacy that really cares about each life that we affect.
